Tata Steel's India operations reported the highest steel production in Q4 of fiscal 2019, driven primarily by the acquisition of Bhushan Steel assets during 2018.
According to the company's press release, crude steel production during the quarter was 4.47 million tonnes, up 46% from the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal year. Sales for the quarter were up 56% to 4.73 million tonnes. This compares to 3.3 million tonnes in the 4th quarter of fiscal year 18. Improved plant sales in various locations, including the Tata Steel BSL plant, have helped the Indian company achieve record production levels.
