Thyssenkrupp Materials Services continues to drive digital transformation: since the beginning of 2019, an artificial intelligence solution powered by the Microsoft Azure cloud platform has been integrated into the processes of the largest material and service provider in the western world. Alfred helps its Material Services colleagues dynamically manage a global logistics network with 271 warehouse locations and more than 150,000 products and services.
Like his namesake Mr. Alfred Krupp, all information is collected jointly with Alfred. As a first step, Alfred will help optimize transport routes and thereby save thousands of tons of material transported per year. Plus, in the future, content will be available more quickly in the right places. In the medium term
Mr. Klaus Keisberg, CEO of Thyssenkrupp Materials Services, summarizes Alfred's strengths: “Artificial intelligence is one of the technologies that will decisively contribute to the competitiveness of materials distribution in the future. With Alfred, we are taking an important step towards making our processes even more efficient and streamlining our value chain. At the same time, it gives us a better understanding of our clients' needs so that we can align our proposals accordingly. In the medium term, this holistic approach will also open up new business opportunities for us. ”
