In connection with the increase in the volume of incoming metal in the heading shop of Dneprospetsstal, the enterprise decided to expand the area for unloading trucks and railway cars. Naturally, under the newly cast concrete platforms, a larger number of special equipment is needed - reloaders. Thus, in addition to the already existing two Fuchs machines, three more were purchased. The head of the motor transport department, Viktor Stadnik, told us more about the newly acquired equipment.
Why reloaders? They serve for quick and accurate unloading of non-magnetic scrap. The accuracy of the movements and the size of the grab pincers allows unloading, loading quickly, efficiently and without damaging vehicles (whether it be a wagon, a car body or something else).
“We went to Germany, to the used equipment market, to choose modern loaders-loaders, Stanislav Belik, project manager of the BKiRM department, and Vladimir Larin, ATC chief specialist,” says Viktor Stadnik. - Selected three Terex Fuchs cranes in excellent condition - two MHL350 and one MHL340. Differences in modifications are power and boom length. So "340th" is used on the northern overpass, so as not to touch the structural elements.
Upon the arrival of the equipment in Ukraine, it was necessary to conduct an expert examination for compliance with Ukrainian legislation, undergo a technical inspection and register.
To date, all three "new" units have been registered and put into operation.
- For these units of equipment ATC, together with OKiRP, work was carried out to select candidates for the profession of a loader driver, recalls Viktor Stadnik. - There were certain difficulties, because there was a stream of applicants and we filtered (we tried to choose with experience in handling equipment). This is due to the fact that the technique is very expensive, specific and with a lot of electronics. As a result, crews were formed with more experienced loader operators.
Our employees who have already mastered the management of the previous two fuchs under the guidance of the column mechanic Valery Vorobyov, a specially assigned ATC employee who monitors the safety, technical condition and organization of repair work of this loading equipment, are training our employees.
Since the equipment is more modern, as well as to minimize the risks associated with premature failure of any components and assemblies, it was decided to refuel the newly acquired Fuchs exclusively with high-quality diesel fuel. The second point is that they will all be serviced exclusively using original oils and fluids.
