To counter the stainless steel giants invested by China, the Taiwan government has also begun asking all of Taiwan's top stainless steel producers such as Yusco, Walsin Lihwa, Fuxin and Yuan Long Stainless Steel Corp. to integrate the domestic stainless steel industry to improve competitiveness.
The reason Indonesia was chosen was because of one rich natural material in Indonesia, lateritic nickel ore, which was also a key material for stainless steel.
To keep production costs down, the best way would be to complete integrated production from mining to processing, and this would once again force Taiwanese stainless steel producers to return to the market.
The investment is expected to exceed NT $ 20 billion.
