ArcelorMittal Long Products Canada announced today that it has acquired the assets of Legault Métal Inc, a metal processing company with operations in Treson, Val d'Or, Rouen Noranda and La Sarre, in Abitibi Temisking in Quebec, Canada.
These properties, which will now operate under the name Legault Métal, a division of ArcelorMittal, will continue to provide their services to dealers and individuals. François Perras, CEO of ArcelorMittal Long Products Canada, said: “We are delighted to welcome Legault Métal Inc., a longtime supplier, to our organization and further strengthen our presence in the Quebec waste disposal market. As the largest local recycler in Quebec, we also secure our supply of raw materials from this important region and strengthen the value chain.
Well established in Quebec since the 1960s, ArcelorMittal will continue the tradition of excellence that Legault Métal has maintained since 1968 and will provide local opportunities for scrap metal collected primarily in the region, as well as elsewhere in Quebec, Ontario and all of Canada. ...
Gerry Legault will support the ArcelorMittal Long Products Canada team to ensure a smooth transition of operations in the coming months. The approximately 100 people currently employed by Legault Métal remain with the company at the date of the transaction.
