Vietnam's steel exports reached nearly US $ 2 billion this year, up nearly 15% over the same period in 2018. Vietnam's steel exports in July rose 4.7% from the previous month, according to the General Department of Customs.
Steel exports increased in July after three consecutive months of declines. The United States continued to be the largest importer of Vietnamese metal products with a turnover of US $ 378.3 million, accounting for 19.5% of the country's total exports. The United States is followed by Japan, India, Thailand and South Korea. In addition to the US and Asian markets, steel exports to European countries also increased between January and July. Shipments to Switzerland increased sharply by 206% over the same period last year. In addition, steel exports to Norway and England increased.
In the first eight months of this year, Hòa Phát Group shipped 165,000 tons of construction steel abroad, up 38% over the previous year.
During the reporting period, 1.77 million tons were produced, which is 20% more than in the same period last year.
