Turkish steelmakers tried to positively regain their share of the US steel market. Some steelmakers hoped to discuss the matter with US authorities, although there is currently no reliable information on the market.
Some market participants hoped to replace US tariffs with 25% import quotas. They felt that the import quota definitely made the deal much easier, but the overall situation was not yet mature.
In addition, Turkish steelmakers intend to negotiate with the United States, hoping for a similar situation with South Korea and Argentina. The Turkish situation was still uncertain, with some buyers predicting that it could take a long time to discuss the results.
