According to statistics from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in July 2019, imports of hot rolled steel coils (HRC) to Turkey amounted to about 348,000 tons, an increase of 44.6% year-on-year and 14.9% month-on-year.
The import value was about US $ 187 million, an increase of 14.1% over the previous month.
Among them, most of the Turkish HRC was imported from Russia, for a total of almost 153,000 tons, an increase of 53.34% year on year; followed by Ukraine with a total volume of about 48,000 tons, an increase of 1% year on year.
In the first 7 months of 2019, Turkey imported about 2.18 million tonnes of HRC, down 6.6% year-on-year, while the value of exports fell 18.1% year on year.
Among them, most of the Turkish HRC was exported to Russia, for a total of about 903,000 tons, up 15.09% year on year; it is followed by Ukraine with 273,000 tons, up 16.2% year on year.
