Zaporozhkoks, within the framework of the strategy of technological modernization of Metinvest Group, launched a new line for granulation of electrode pitch Ligran No. 2 in the resin distillation shop. Investments amounted to UAH 152 million.
The Zaporozhkoks resin distillation shop produces seven types of products that are in demand at enterprises in Ukraine and abroad. The main product of the workshop - electrode pitch (liquid and granular) is used for the production of electrode masses used in non-ferrous metallurgy.
Equipment of a new pelletizing line manufactured by Sandvik (Sweden) will allow Zaporozhkoks to completely switch from liquid pitch production to pelleted pitch and almost double its production - up to 49 thousand tons of pitch per year.

Reorientation to the production of granular electrode pitch will allow to provide metallurgists with high-quality raw materials, ”said Alexander Tretyakov, General Director of Zaporozhkoks.
The new equipment is equipped with a technology for utilization of waste vapors up to 99.5% at a catalytic afterburner, which makes it possible to practically eliminate additional burden on the environment.
