EU strengthens safeguards to curb steel imports growth

According to the report, the European Commission to protect the steel market by adjusting the precautionary measures effective October 1.

According to representatives of the European Association of Steel Producers (Eurofer), it was necessary to maintain the existing steel protection measures in order to restrict the supply of steel products from other countries.

Some market participants stressed that the revised safeguards may address certain problems, but problems still remain, especially steel demand, which is expected to decline this year in the European Union.
