Martina Merz took over as CEO of Thyssenkrupp AG on 1 October. This was unanimously decided by the Supervisory Board of Thyssenkrupp AG at an extraordinary meeting last Friday. The current Chairman of the Supervisory Board will be delegated to the Group's Executive Board for a maximum of twelve months, after which it will return to the Supervisory Board. The Supervisory Board agreed with the current CEO Guido Kerhoff to terminate his powers in the Executive Board.
Together with Martina Merz's delegation, the Supervisory Board followed the recommendations of the personnel committee. In addition, the Supervisory Board has appointed Klaus Keisberg to the Executive Board of Thyssenkrupp AG from 1 October. Keisberg, who will be responsible for materials activities on the Group's executive board, has held various positions at Thyssenkrupp since 1996 and was CEO. business services in materials industry since the beginning of the year. He will continue to hold this position until a successor is appointed.
The successor to Martina Merz at the head of the supervisory board will be Professor Dr. Siegfried Russwurm. A former member of the Siemens Executive Board, he has been a member of the Supervisory Board since April 2019.
