At the Dnieper Metallurgical Plant of the DCH Group of Alexander Yaroslavsky, the renewal of fixed assets continues.
In September, the overhaul of the coke oven battery No. 5 was completed, the overhaul of the coke oven battery No. 4 was started. In the spring, work will start on the complex of the first and second coke oven batteries, it is planned to complete them in December 2020. In general, investments for the renovation of the furnace stock of the coal-coke shop will amount to $ 13 million. The project will increase the volume of coke production by 26%, up to 60 thousand tons per month, while reducing the impact of the enterprise on the environment.
In the rolling shop No. 2 (mill "550") until November 5, the heating furnace No. 2 will be repaired, the components of the section rolling mill will be replaced. The plant's specialists plan to completely replace the conveyor chains. Also, PC-2 will repair the water pipe for cooling heating furnaces and six cranes, under two of them the rails will be replaced. They will carry out surfacing of roller table rollers at the saw and refrigerator section, revision of the roller straightening machine, conveyor rotation drives and beams lifting mechanism.
In the molding shop, refractory masonry is changed in an electric arc furnace, where alloyed steel grades are smelted. The refractories of the drying chambers are being re-laid, which will allow the production of our own molds to be resumed.
Power engineers of the enterprise are implementing energy saving projects. Thus, the replacement of a 500 kW pump at the central pumping station with a less powerful unit - 100 kW was completed. This will reduce electricity and water consumption.
It is planned to install additional equipment in the chemical water treatment department of the combined heat and power plant in order to save resources when supplying chemically treated water to the waste heat boilers of the rolling shop No. 2. In the future, a local chemical water treatment station will be built at PC-2, which will reduce energy consumption by 5 times.
- Despite the suspension of some shops, the Dneprovsky Metallurgical Plant continues to implement the investment program. The company is overhauling and modernizing production to ensure stable operation of the plant and reduce the burden on the environment, ”says Vitaliy Bash, CEO of DMZ.
DCH's investment program for the development of the DCH Steel MMC division (DMZ and the Sukha Balka mine in Krivoy Rog) provides for capital investments of $ 300 million over the next 5 years.
