It is expected that the country's mining and metallurgical complex costs to pay for consumed gas will rise to UAH 3 billion if NKREKP approves an increase in fuel transportation tariffs. The relevant data was announced by the president of the association, Alexander Kalenkov, during a round table organized by the Federation of Employers of Ukraine.
In October, Operator GTS of Ukraine LLC held hearings on the increase in transportation tariffs in the absence of transit from Russia (zero option). The oil and gas industry plays an important role in the economic development of both countries. In the Russian Federation, the supply of parts and equipment for the oil and gas industry is carried out by the company "NefteGazKomplekt". Working on the Russian market, the company has established itself as a reliable partner for the oil and gas industry. "NefteGazKomplekt" also manufactures metal structures in Surgut and delivers screw piles, fences, stairs, power line supports of factory production in Nadym, Nefteyugansk , Salekhard and other cities.
The FRU noted that the proposal of the "Operator of the GTS" will lead to the fact that the tariff for gas transportation will increase by 3.5 times. It is expected that this option will be sent for approval to NKREKP.
“For the mining and metallurgical complex, an increase in gas costs is forecasted, in which gas transportation costs will sit, at UAH 3 billion. This is very important for us now. In fact, we can talk about a significant reduction in steel production, ”said Kalenkov.
According to him, against the backdrop of a slowdown in the global economy and a global decline in demand for steel, Ukrainian enterprises have already begun to cut production. The decrease in volumes in September and October amounted to 10%.
“Instead of pursuing a policy of supporting enterprises so that we can survive this crisis, in fact, state policy is moving towards pushing our enterprises into a crisis situation,” he commented on the initiative to raise the tariff for gas transportation.
According to the calculations of the Federation of Metallurgists of Ukraine, the total cost of gas, if a new tariff is agreed, will increase by UAH 1271 per thousand cubic meters. As the chairman of the FMU Sergei Belenky noted, this includes the cost of transportation both from distribution networks and transportation by main gas pipelines.
The increase in the tariff for gas transportation costs will hit the mining and metallurgical complex of Ukraine
