The 12-month program will enable each business to prove that our manufacturing processes meet strictly defined standards across a wide range of social, environmental and governance criteria. The first wave of audit includes sites in Belgium, Germany, Spain and France, followed by others. Following this initial phase, the program will include other ArcelorMittal sites around the world.

The standard is based on 12 principles with different criteria and basic requirements. To obtain ResponsibleSteel certification, each facility will undergo rigorous third party audits and an independent certification committee makes the final certification decision.
