In the face of frequent sanctions against the oil industry in Iran, the country's leadership gradually switched to the development of the metallurgical industry.
The steel industry accounts for 7.5% of Iran's labor market, and steel export earnings account for 11% of Iran's industrial export earnings. Iran was also the main steel producer in the Middle East.
According to the World Steel Association, Iran's steel production from January to October was 19.5 million tons.
It is expected to become the world's 10th steel producer again after 2018. In 2019, production in most regions of the world was declining, but the capacity of the Iranian steel plant continued to grow.
Meanwhile, Iran is building 30.9 million tonnes of metallurgical production capacity and production capacity is expected to expand in the future.
