In the US, a New Year's Eve fire dealt a financial blow to STS Steel. However, it was lucky that no one was hurt, and the plant tried to resume production. In this way, losses can be minimized.
The painting rooms and offices were severely damaged by the fire. Consequently, some office staff will be temporarily relocated until renovations are completed. The manufacturer suffered minor damage but was easy to repair.
The priority for STS was to restore the power supply to the factory. The production resumption date was expected to be January 6, 2020.
