Jindal Steel and Power Ltd (JSPL), one of the leading steel companies in India, posted an all-time high in crude steel production in the last quarter of last year, reaching 1.61 million tonnes, up 22% year on year.
Total steel sales to JSPL in the same period were about 1.66 million tonnes, and increased by 30% year-on-year, while total exports reached 300,000 tonnes, an increase of 213% year-on-year.
According to the CEO of JSPL, the latest policy of the Indian government to invest over Rs 102 trillion in internal infrastructure development has sparked optimism in the industry within the industry.
