According to an official report from Turkey, total crude steel production in the first 11 months of 2019 was about 31 million tonnes, down 10.36% year on year.
The experts said that the main reason for the decline was weak demand in the domestic and foreign markets.
The upward trend of global protectionism further affected Turkey's export performance, with domestic producers hoping the government would restrict steel imports.
In the first 11 months in Turkey, total billet production was about 19 million tons, down 16.67% year on year.
