The quotas of Ukraine and Russia for duty-free sale of valves are at a critical level. Among them, the remaining quota for rebar in Russia amounted to only 5,915 tons, and in Ukraine - 8,596 tons.
On 1 July last year, Russia's initial quota was 241,998 tons. Ukraine had a quota of 160,848 tons. However, CIS steel exports to the EU were relatively slow, and this situation continued until the main competitor - Turkey - exhausted all quotas of 301,537 tons in October.
At the moment, Ukraine and Russia can conduct competitive trading activities in the EU market, so the sales of these two countries increased simultaneously.
The new quota will be reissued on April 1st. The quota limit for each country was 30% to avoid monopoly quotas.
