The Netherlands Trade Union Confederation FNV said Tata Steel Netherland workers went on strike for the second time in three days on Sunday to protest planned job cuts in the Netherlands. On Sunday, employees stopped working for eight hours after the Friday night strike. Workers have ceased work since June 10, but operations were suspended last week when negotiations were underway with the management of Tata Steel Europe. These negotiations failed to reach an agreement.
Tata's board said it needs more time to consider union demands that jobs will not be cut until October 2026, and that plans to further integrate Tata's activities in the Netherlands and the UK will be canceled.
