Despite the fact that 64 countries of the world produced 148.295 million tons of steel in June, which is 7% lower than in June 2019, Ukraine, following the results of the work of metallurgical enterprises in June 2020, increased steel production by 9% compared to the same period in 2019 - up to 1.809 million tons, keeping the 13th place in the ranking of 64 countries - the world's main producers of these products, compiled by the World Steel Association (Worldsteel).
In June, a drop in steel production was recorded by June-2019 in most of the top ten countries, except for China, Turkey and Iran. At the same time, the largest decrease in steel production was recorded in Japan - by 36.3%.
The top ten steel-producing countries in June are as follows: China (91.579 million tons, an increase of 4.5%), India (6.917 million tons, a fall of 26.3%), Russia (5.6 million tons, " minus "7.6%), Japan (5.598 million tons, a decline of 36.3%), South Korea (5.097 million tons," minus "14.3%), the USA (4.746 million tons, a drop of 34.5% ), Germany (2.475 million tons, "minus" 27.3%), Turkey (2.799 million tons, an increase of 4.1%), Iran (2.425 million tons, an increase of 5.3%) and Brazil (2.1 million tons, a decrease of 27.1%).
This is followed by Vietnam (1.922 million tons, an increase of 13.4%), Italy (1.810 million tons, a drop of 13%), Ukraine (1.809 million tons, an increase of 9%), Taiwan (PRC, 1.7 million tons, a 6% decline) and Mexico (1.130 million tons, minus 21.4%).
