According to statistics published by the Association of Consumers and Suppliers of Special Steel and Alloys (Association "SpetsStal"), in July Russia imported about 31,000 tons of stainless steel, which is 3.8% more than in the previous month.
Among them, imports of stainless steel flat products increased by 8.6% compared to the previous month; production of seamless stainless steel pipes increased by about 17% compared to the previous month; the volume of electrowelded stainless steel pipes increased by 15.2% compared to the previous month; stainless steel wire is up 59% compared to last month; stainless steel billets were up nearly 44% from the previous month.
Imports of cold rolled stainless steel were down 1.3% month-on-month, while imports of stainless steel bars fell nearly 1.0% from June.
