Spanish steel supplier Celsa Group is considering applying to a Spanish government aid fund to help overcome the impact of the Covid-19 crisis on its business.
“The company is currently scrutinizing the conditions disclosed by the solvency fund and the possibility of using temporary government assistance offered to strategic companies that require additional financing on a temporary basis due to the pandemic,” Selsa said in a note. ...
According to media reports, Celsa is trying to raise € 200 million ($ 237 million) from the fund. To receive financial support, as required by the Spanish government, the steelmaker must demonstrate that his economic situation was viable by the end of 2019. It is also necessary to show that Covid-19 has had an extremely negative impact on his activities or employment, at the national or regional level.
