NLMK supplied the first batch of grain-free electrical steel to the Riga Electric Machine Building Plant (AS Rigas elektromasinbuves rupnica), which is part of the Transmash holding. The plant intends to use NLMK steel for the production of traction motors. AS RER manufactures traction motors and electrical equipment for electric locomotives, passenger trains, trams and electric forklifts.
