According to statistics, Japan exported about 2.6 million tons of steel products in August, an increase of 3.9% over the previous month and a decrease of 14.4% over the same period last year.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, international demand has plummeted. Exports rebounded somewhat last month, boosted by increased domestic car consumption in Japan and efforts by Japanese automakers to restore sales to pre-epidemic levels.
