Two rigs for drilling degassing wells were acquired by Raspadskaya Coal Company (RUK, which manages EVRAZ's coal assets). Now the equipment works at the Uskovskaya and Erunakovskaya-VIII mines, and will be used in the future at other underground coal mining enterprises of RUK.
The new equipment is tracked, equipped with hydraulic manipulators and controlled by joysticks. This eliminates the need to transport machines by monorail or with a manual hoist. In three hours, the machines can cover a distance of 50 meters. This is enough to drill wells in a timely manner to remove gas from the mine.
The capabilities of modern equipment increase not only labor productivity, but also safety: the specialist operating the machine is at the control panel, away from the mechanisms - spacers and augers.
In 2020, RUK will receive four such installations: two have already begun work, and two more will be launched in November. They will replenish the existing fleet of degassing drilling equipment, which already includes 80 rigs of various models.
