According to the World Steel Association (worldsteel), in October 2020, crude steel production in Ukraine increased by 5.9% to 1.65 million tons, and its global rating fell from 13th to 14th place.
The country with the largest steel production in the world in October was still China with 92.2 million tonnes, up 12.7% from a year earlier, followed by India, which produced 9.1 million tonnes, up 0 , 9% more than a year earlier. Japan had 7.2 million tonnes, down 11.7% from last year; in the United States there were 6.14 million tons, which is 15.3% less than last year; In Russia there were 6.1 million tons, which is 4.3% more than last year; South Korea had 5.9 million tonnes, 1.8% less than last year.
Steel production in Ukraine from January to October this year fell by 5.5% compared to the same period last year to 17 million tons.
From January to October 2020, steel production in 64 countries fell 2% year-on-year to 1.5 billion tonnes.
