Steel demand in China is expected to reach 991 million tonnes in 2021, up 1.0% from 2020, according to a report released by the China Metallurgical Planning and Research Institute.
... Steel consumption this year was projected at 981 million tons. an increase of 9.6% over the previous year, with a new annual steel consumption of about 100 million tons.
In addition, steel production in China was projected at 1.050 billion tons in 2020, up 5.4% from a year earlier and to exceed 1 billion tons for the first time.
