ArcelorMittal Poland plans to create a joint venture with Moris based in Chorzów.
According to UOKiK, the planned merger concerns the creation of a limited liability joint venture by ArcelorMittal Poland, headquartered in Dбbrowa Górnicza, and Moris, headquartered in Chorzów. The purpose of the joint venture is the production and marketing of railway products and rail accessories, as well as the provision of related services.
ArcelorMittal Poland manufactures a wide range of steel products, including flat and special products, long products, as well as steel semi-finished and special purpose products.
Moris operates on the Polish metal products wholesale market. In addition, the company has a railroad rail welding workshop in Chorzów, and the company provides transport services for the range of products on offer.
The Chorzow-based company also participated in a tender for the purchase of Walcownia Blach Grubych Batory, which it won by offering PLN 26.1 million for rolling mill assets. However, after a long and complicated process, the deal was never completed. Maurice turned down the deal and WGB Bathory moved to Venglocox.
