According to Vladislav Lazebny, deputy chief of the blast-furnace shop for engineering, the main task of repairing air heater No. 6 is to restore the refractory lining of the furnace combustion chamber by the method of semi-dry gunning.
After dismantling the plugs, separating the valve and smoke valve covers, the substandard lining of the combustion chamber will collapse, after the completion of the above work, the lining of the dome base, the base of the combustion chamber and the flame arrester will be restored by gunning with concrete. Reconstruction of the casing space and gunning of the smoke valves will also be carried out.
On the electrical side, it is planned to partially replace the cabling and wiring products and command devices, to repair the control panels and lighting networks of the air heater.
Overhaul will increase the temperature of the hot blast into the furnace, which, in turn, will make it possible to reduce the consumption of specific fuel per ton of pig iron during the smelting process.
The planned cost of the overhaul is about 8,700,000. UAH.
Help: GP-1M includes a block of 4 air heaters designed to heat the blast supplied to the blast furnace.
The principle of operation of air heaters is based on heating the packing by burning a mixture of blast-furnace and natural gases in the combustion chamber, followed by the supply of cold blast through the heated packing.
The previous overhaul of the air heater No. 6 was carried out in 2017.
DP-1M was put into operation in July 2007 after reconstruction.
The Dneprovsky Metallurgical Plant has started overhaul of the stove # 6 of blast furnace # 1M
