ArcelorMittal and biomass processing company Vow ASA have signed a letter of intent to build a biogas plant in Luxembourg. The pilot project should provide a quarter of gas to the plant.
Preparations for the construction of the first dedicated biogas plant for steel production are under way at the Rodange plant in Luxembourg. The plant for the production of gas from biomass by pyrolysis is expected to be launched in 2023. The biogas produced here is intended to replace natural gas, which is currently used to heat steel during the rolling process.
