Hoa Fat Achieves 1 Million Tons With Danieli QSP

Danieli's new casting and rolling line for high quality coils has exceeded 1 million tonnes of rolled metal in 8 months after launch.

The Dung Kwat plant in Vietnam, which is in the expanded commissioning phase, has produced 200,000 tonnes of HCR, which is 94% of the nominal capacity. According to the plan, this month the line will exceed this figure.

It incorporates Danieli strip technology, which includes two vertically curved thin slab casting lines, a 210 meter tunnel kiln and a six-stand hot rolling mill, followed by a strip cooling system, decoiler and coil handling areas.

A complete electrical and automation system for all strip processing areas, from Level 0 to the large drive system for HSM stands, is designed and supplied by Danieli Automation.

The produced steel coils of the LC HSLA and MC HSLA families with strip widths of 1250 and 1500 mm are used for the needs of private cold rolling mills, as well as domestic rolling mills and manufacturers of pipeline products.

The cold test ended in May 2020 with the first hot rolled coil, followed by a hot commissioning in June. The results obtained during this period correspond to 90% of the rated power.

These numbers confirm that Hoa Phat is on track to meet its production target of 2.7 Mtpa in 2021, and with the expansion of the smelter planned for the end of this year, its full capacity will reach 3.7 Mtpa. a year, which will become a world landmark. in casting and rolling technology.
