Hot rolled metal (HRC) prices continued to rise in the US due to a lack of supply.
On average, the HRC price in the US Midwest rose by $ 16 per tonne, with lead times extended by a week. HRC prices in the South of the United States rose by about $ 15.8 per tonne over the week.
Several industries in the United States have suffered from a shortage of rolled metal products. The automotive industry in North America is facing shortages of semiconductors and other materials. However, car companies and suppliers still consume the rental they supply in order to resume operations when the supply shortage ends.
