The Japanese government has filed a lawsuit with the World Trade Organization (WTO) over China's (AD) anti-dumping duties on stainless steel products in Japan, saying it could violate international agreements.
The Japanese government emphasized that Japan's main export products are generally priced high, which does not compete with Chinese products.
China began imposing duties of 18.1% or 29.0% on Japanese stainless steel products, including stainless steel slabs and hot rolled stainless steel flat products, from July 2019 on the basis that a sharp increase in imports from Japan caused damage to China's domestic industry.
