The European Commission will present the draft ETS reform in mid-July. It involves, among other things, limiting the number of free emission quotas and creating a similar system for residential buildings and transport.
Experts say these changes will raise the price of carbon dioxide quotas above € 100 per tonne.
In mid-July, the European Commission is to submit a draft of the largest reform of the ETS system to date. It will form part of a larger set of regulations through which the European economy must meet the climate targets set out in the European Green Deal.
