NLMK Group announced the start of steel construction for a new grain-oriented steel plant in the state of Maharashtra in India. Construction was planned for the equipment installation at the end of 2021 and was to be commissioned in the first half of 2022.
NLMK has announced that it will complete the India stage with an electrical coating, annealing, cutting and laser straightening.
The plant will have an annual capacity of 64,000 tonnes of grain-oriented steel with an investment of around US $ 100-150 million.
The opening of the new plant will allow the company to enter the Indian market. It currently has a 25% share of the grain-oriented steel market.
