According to the latest statistics from the German Steel Federation (WV Stahl), crude steel production in Germany was over 3.42 million tonnes in June, up 38.5% from the same month last year, the fourth straight month of growth.
The sharp increase from the same period last year was driven by low inventory in the same month last year, as production was impacted by the COVID-19 epidemic at the time.
Including the volume of production of oxygen furnaces amounted to about 2.3 million tons, which is 48% more than a year earlier; from electric arc furnaces - about 1.2 million tons, which is 22.3% more than last year.
German steel production grows for 4 months in a row
