Nikopol Ferroalloy Plant increases production

Nikopol Ferroalloy Plant (NFP) in January-August this year increased production by 20.7% compared to the same period last year - up to 447.945 thousand tons. According to the Ukrainian Association of Ferroalloy Producers (UkrFA), with a production plan of 66.030 thousand tons, 67.795 thousand tons of commercial ferroalloys were produced in August. In September, the production plan is 65 thousand tons. At the same time, it is specified that such data were made public during an operational meeting with the heads of structural divisions of the general director of the plant, Vladimir Kutsina.

The main topics of the meeting were the production situation at the NFP, changes in the organizational structure and personnel rotations, the personnel balance and the planned increase in salaries at the enterprise, the peculiarities of introducing a digital sick-list, as well as the results and further plans for the vaccination of the plant's employees. It was stated that in one of the workshops of the plant there are 13 melting units in operation, in the other - two furnaces, practically the entire furnace arsenal is involved, with the exception of three melting units. Furnace No. 3 is undergoing overhaul; the overhaul is completed in the fourth quarter of 2022. Furnaces # 5 and # 18 are not used at this stage, but Japanese round furnace # 18 is ready to be energized. Such a need may appear at any time, but the company lacks personnel. According to the general director, the personnel resource in Nikopol has practically dried up, therefore, in order to attract and retain professionals, it is necessary to increase salaries for the professions most in demand at the enterprise. This issue is planned to be considered in the near future. At the meeting, Kutsin introduced the new head of the labor protection service, Andrei Zaspenko, and noted that labor protection and safety measures were and will be the No. 1 issue at the NFP.

On the issue of combating the spread of coronavirus infection, Kutsin stressed that large-scale vaccination remains our main task today. "In general, the company has already vaccinated 50% of employees, there are departments and services where 100% of employees are vaccinated. And if we take statistics, then this is a fairly good indicator," said the general director of NFP. As reported, NFP for 7 months-2021 increased production by 13.2% compared to the same period last year - up to 380.15 thousand tons, including 62.39 thousand tons of ferroalloys produced in July. NFP in 2020 reduced production by 29.1% compared to the previous year - to 513.32 thousand tons.

The average monthly output of ferroalloys with stable operation of the enterprise is about 55-60 thousand tons. NFP is the largest enterprise in Ukraine for the production of silico and ferromanganese. Uses imported and domestic raw materials for the production of ferroalloys. NZF controls the EastOne group, created in the fall of 2007 as a result of the restructuring of the Interpipe group, as well as the Privat group.
