Production results of MMC of Ukraine for 8 months of 2021

In January-August 2021, metallurgical enterprises of Ukraine produced:

agglomerate - 22.73 million tons (106.8% versus January-August 2020);
gross coke (6% wet) - 6.56 million tons (101.6%);
pig iron - 14.48 million tons (106.8%);
steel - 14.59 million tons (106.6%);
rolled products - 13.01 million tons (106.0%);
pipe products - 0.66 million tons (121.6%).
As of September 15, 2021, of the main operating production facilities, 19 out of 21 blast furnaces, 7 out of 8 open-hearth furnaces, 14 out of 16 converters, 5 out of 15 electric furnaces and 16 out of 17 continuous casting machines are in operation.

Iron ore raw materials:

The provision of metallurgical enterprises with Ukrainian iron ore raw materials in January-August 2021 was carried out in accordance with the needs of metallurgical production. For the import of iron ore was not delivered.

Iron ore exports for 8 months of 2021 amounted to 29.76 million tons (96.9% compared to the same period in 2020)

Coking coals:

For 8 months of 2021, 8.63 million tons of coking coal were supplied to Ukrainian coke-chemical enterprises (98.9% compared to January-August 2020), of which:

- Ukrainian origin - 2.49 million tons (108.3% compared to the same period in 2020);

- imported - 6.14 million tons (95.5% compared to January-August 2020).

The share of imported coals in the total volume of supplies in January-August 2021 amounted to 71.1% against 73.7% in the same period in 2020.

Coke:

The total volume of coke produced by metallurgists in 8 months of 2021 amounted to 5.634 million tons (104.0% compared to the same period in 2020), of which:

- of Ukrainian origin 5.388 million tons (100.8% relative to the same period in 2020).

- imported - 0.246 million tons (341.7% versus January-August 2020)

The share of imported coke in the total supply for 8 months of 2021 amounted to 4.37% against 1.33% in January-August 2020.

Imported scrap metal:

In January-August 2021, 2609 thousand tons of scrap metal were procured (143.5% compared to the same period in 2020), of which 2199 thousand tons (122.4% against January-August 2020) were supplied to Ukrainian consumers as imported.

Exports of scrap metal in January-August 2021 amounted to 410 thousand tons (1952% compared to the same period in 2020).

For 8 months of 2021, Ukrainian metallurgy consumed about 1,310 million cubic meters of natural gas (106.1% compared to January-August 2020).

Electricity consumption by metallurgical enterprises for 8 months of 2021 amounted to about 7.67 billion kWh (104.4% compared to January-August 2020).
