Liberty Steel UK has announced the resumption of production at its GREENSTEEL Rotherham electric arc furnace. Operations were scheduled to restart overnight to maximize efficiency and reduce energy costs. According to the press release, the work will take place from 11:00 pm to 6:00 am, when electricity costs will be comparatively lower.
The reboot follows a recent £ 50 million funding from parent company GFG Alliance as part of its restructuring and transformation program. The company plans to reach capacity no earlier than 50,000 tons per month. He plans to expand the plant's production capacity to ultimately produce at least two million tonnes of steel per year.
