According to the statistics of the Spanish Association of Steel Producers (UNESID), in October the production of crude steel in Spain amounted to about 1.28 million tons, which is 2.6% more than in the previous month, and also increased by 8.8% compared to the same month last year.
In the first ten months of this year, crude steel production in Spain was about 12.2 million tonnes, up 35% from the same period last year, according to the World Steel Association (worldsteel).
In October, 1.03 million tons of ferrous scrap was used by Spain for steel production, which is 1.8% more compared to September and 48.9% compared to the corresponding period of 2020. The consumption of ferrous scrap in the first ten months amounted to 9.6 million tons, taking into account for almost 79% of the total steel production for the reporting period.
