In January-October, the export of stainless steel from Russia fell

According to statistics from the Russian Association of Consumers and Suppliers of Specialty Steel and Alloys (USSA), stainless steel exports from Russia in the first ten months of this year amounted to about 10,200 tons, which is 7% less than in the same period last year. In October alone, prices for stainless steel in Russia fell by almost 33%, to 1.5 tons.

With regard to stainless steel scrap, for the period from January to October, the export volume amounted to about 104,900 tons, which is 5.1% more compared to the same period last year. The export value was US $ 162 million, which is 52% more than a year earlier. In October alone, exports of stainless steel scrap from Russia decreased by 8.8% compared to the previous month, reaching about 11,800 tons.

In addition, imports of stainless steel scrap to Russia in the first ten months of this year amounted to about 368,200 tons, which is 13.7% more than a year earlier. China was the main supplier of stainless steel scrap to Russia during this period.
