India has canceled anti-dumping duties on painted and pre-flat steel imports from China and the EU, according to a notice from the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs of India (CBIC).
Last week, the Indian government also decided to cancel anti-dumping duties on imports of hot-rolled flat products from China, Japan, South Korea, Russia, Brazil and Indonesia. In addition, he rejected the recommendation to impose final anti-dumping duties on imports of cold rolled coil originating in or exported from China, Japan, South Korea and Ukraine.
The duty, introduced in provisional form in January 2017 and made final in October 2017, was equal to the difference between the unloading price of these imports and $822 per tonne. It was in effect for five years until January 2022 (see Kallanish passim). In July last year, India initiated consideration of a possible extension of the duty.
The products in question fall under the TN VED codes 72107000, 72124000, 72259900 and 72269990; however, dumped imports were also observed in some other HS codes.
