Dutch prosecutors have announced an investigation into allegations of pollution on the northern coast of the Netherlands during the containment of steel production at Tata Steel's IJmuiden plant.
Prosecutors accused Tata Steel of deliberately and illegally dumping hazardous materials to damage local soil, air and water pollution. The investigation also extended to Harsco Metals Holland, another Tata steel plant in IJmuiden.
The prosecutor's office will continue to investigate the two plants and their management.
