Sanctions did not affect the production of Norilsk Nickel in Russia in the first quarter

Russia's Norilsk Nickel reported about 51,500 tons of nickel production in the first quarter of 2022, up 10% from last year. The resolution of groundwater inflow problems at the Oktyabrsky and Taymyrsky mines in Russia in 2021 explained the increase in nickel production.

The company said it will maintain its annual production forecast for this year by implementing new logistics systems and looking for alternative suppliers despite sanctions against Russia in Europe and North America.
