Toyota Motor Corp. announced on May 10 that it would be suspending 14 production lines at 8 plants in Japan from May 16 to May 21 as a long COVID-19 lockdown in Shanghai made it difficult to procure components. Stopping production will cut production by about 30,000 units.
The longest pause, which spans all six days, is expected at the Toyota Auto Body Yoshiwara Plant
In addition, Toyota will cut its global production in May from a previous target of 750,000 vehicles to 700,000 vehicles.
