According to statistics released by the World Steel Association (worldsteel), global crude steel production in April this year was almost 163 million tons, down 5.1% from the same month last year.
Of these, production in Africa decreased by 5.4% to 1.2 million tons, in Asia it decreased by 4% to 121.4 million tons, in the CIS countries it decreased by 18.4% to 7.3 million tons, in the EU it decreased by 5.4% to 12.3 million tons, in North America - by 5.1% to 9.4 million tons, and in South America - by 4.8% to 3.6 million tons, all compared with April 2021.
