ArcelorMittal, the world's second largest steelmaker, announced last Wednesday a new investment of 144 million reais in its plant in Sabara, located in the Brazilian province of Minas Gerais. Thanks to these investments, the capacity of the plant will increase by 35%.
Jefferson De Paula, president of ArcelorMittal Brasil, said the investment strengthens its position in the Brazilian market and increases the company's competitiveness in the automotive and industrial sectors.
This is the fifth investment announced by the company in recent months, totaling up to 7.8 billion reais, which will be concentrated from 2022 to 2025.
