According to the statistics of the Spanish Association of Steel Producers (UNESID), steel production in Spain in March this year amounted to 1 million tons, up 3.2% compared to the previous month and down 23% compared to the same period last year.
In total, Spain produced 2.98 million tons of steel in the first quarter of this year.
In March, Spain's steel industry recycled 747,000 tons of scrap metal to produce new steel products, down 5.3% month-on-month and up 29% year-on-year.
Between January and March, the Spanish steel industry processed 2.24 million tons of scrap metal.
