Indian company Tata Steel is developing a low-carbon transition plan for steel mills in the UK and the Netherlands to reach the goal of producing carbon-neutral steel in Europe by 2050.
Tata Steel Netherlands said it is developing a combination of hydrogen-based direct reduction iron (DRI) technology and electric furnaces to gradually replace blast furnaces and coal over the next ten years.
